Scripps College Economics Society
Overview:The Society seeks to provide a forum for the discussion of economic, political, educational and professional issues and is dedicated to the development of the intellectual and personal skills of its members. We also strive to bring economic dialogue to the community, especially those who are not Economics majors. We have organized various events open to the Scripps community, including two dinner speaker events per year, with speakers such as Linda Davis Taylor (Scripps Board of Trustees and CEO of wealth management firm, Clifford Swan). We also organize around two mixers per semester such as student-professor mixers. Other events have included book clubs and movie nights around an Economics related book, such as 'The Big Short,' and dinners with professors.
The board meets the club meets every other week to discuss planning of events and outreach to the student community. To inquire about applying, email the president and vice president with your interest and a copy of your latest resume. |
