Welcome to the Student Union!
The Student Union is an open space to study, have meetings, or hang out! It is a student space, owned and operated by students of Scripps College! The resources in the Student Union include three computers, a printer, butcher paper for posters, markers, paint, stickers, and many other resources—all for free and all brought to you by SAS!
In the Student Union you can find important forms for club reimbursements as well as information about other events on campus! In addition, it is where the SAS office is located! There is a large common area with couches and comfy chairs as well as many tables. There are also four private rooms for use by students—one large conference room, one TV room, and two general purpose study rooms!
All rooms are available by first-come-first serve, however, the conference room, used frequently for large meetings, is available also by reservation. To reserve: email studentunionchair@gmail.com with your name, purpose of use, and date and time needed.
• The conference room has two white boards and a table which can comfortably seat 14.
• The TV Room has a couch, a television, and a table which comfortably seats 4.
• Study Room #1 has a white board and a table which can comfortably seat 8.
• Study Room #2 has two desks and a white board.
The Student Union also has 18 large lockers which are reserveable yearly. These lockers are great for use by students who live off-campus and would like to leave books or supplies in them for convenience. In addition, they are also used by CLORGs and are first-come-first serve. To reserve: email to studentunionchair@gmail.com with your name/CLORG name.
The Student Union is located above Malott Commons and is open 24-7. It is accessible via key/swipe card to all Scripps students! The Student Union is a communal space for all students, so please be respectful of the time spent in private rooms and how they are used. Monopolizing the space for extended periods of time (such as days) is not acceptable. Please be mindful of other students who may need to use the space, especially clubs and organizations that need a place to hold their meetings.
If you have any questions regarding the Student Union, please contact the Student Union Chair, Alice Wang, at studentunionchair@gmail.com.
